Michael B. Carroll, CPA
Mike joined Howard & Co, LLP in 2006. He has 26 years experience in corporate and partnership taxation and has worked in the oil and gas industry with significant time committed to tax accounting for constructed facilities. His recent practice focus includes real estate development pass-through entities.
Mike grew up in Big Spring, Texas and later attended West Texas State University where he graduated with a bachelor of administration degree in Accounting. Upon graduation, he joined T. Boone Pickens with Mesa Petroleum Company and spent 19 years gaining experience in corporate tax and regulatory issues. During this time, Mike was involved in one of the largest publicly traded partnerships ever formed. The partnership existed for eight years and Mike was responsible for implementing the tax information system that generated K-1 information to over 180,000 partners. After a corporate merger, Mike moved into the Big 4 accounting world where he gained his real estate experience.
Mike is a member of several professional associations, including: the Real Estate Financial Executives Association (REFEA), the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants. Mike currently serves as an officer on the board of REFEA.
