John Tarwater, Ph.D, CPA
John joined Howard & Co., LLP in 2010, with primary responsibilities in research and tax preparation for individual, partnerships, corporations, and trusts.
John came to Howard & Co., LLP from academia, where he taught and served in administration for college and universities in Georgia, North Carolina, and Texas. This experience provides him with a significant background for understanding accounting and tax issues related to non-profits. In addition to his work in academia, John has extensive experience in the construction and real estate industries.
John completed his undergraduate degree at Carson-Newman College with majors in business and mathematics. After completing his graduate degree at Duke University, John completed doctoral studies, with a concentration in ethics. During his career, John has published articles in professional journals and has spoken in various states across the South.
