James N. Howard, CPA/PFS
Jim founded the firm in 1981. He consults with individual and corporate clients on a broad range of business issues: taxation, including transaction structuring for income and estate tax planning; business ownership, including structuring of corporations, partnerships, sole proprietorships and non-profit organizations; and, personal financial goals and strategies.
Jim offers significant depth of experience in restructuring debt with financial institutions, in bankruptcies and in other situations. He is frequently sought by attorneys for assistance in civil and criminal tax cases. During almost 40 years in public accounting, Jim has worked with clients from most major industries, with major emphasis in real estate and oil and gas.
For 11 years prior to starting the firm, Jim was with a large national accounting firm where he was partner in charge of the tax practice in Dallas.
Jim is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University. He has served as a board member of several local and statewide professional organizations and various United Way organizations.
